“And the time came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than  the risk it took to blossom.”  Anais Nin

Whether you’re seeking a supportive writing community of women, writing feedback, or writing topics and tips, Wise Women Write assists beginning and experienced writers in improving their writing skills.

Are you ready to bloom? Are you ready to write?

Women fear aging, but it can be a time to rejoice, a time to come out of the bud to bloom into your full potential.   No time to wither on the vine.

For many women, aging is seen as an ending, rather than a time of beginnings and an awakening to new opportunities.    If your children are growing up and becoming less dependent on you, it’s finally time  to explore what YOU want to do.  Joining a writing group such as Wise Women Write can be the first step in this journey.

Writing helps you you appreciate who you’ve become.

Writing can help you explore your passion and purpose.

Writing helps you focus on you for a change.

Join a supportive writing community of women.

If you long to tell your story and share your truth with a group of supportive women, then consider joining a Wise Women Write group.  Through writing assignments and writing feedback, you’ll be sharing your story and becoming a better writer, all in a fun writing workshop format.

The Value of the Writing Process

In our mirror-focused society, women fail to focus on inner beauty.  Magazines and movies tell us that aging is something that can be magically reversed or at least diminished.  Aging is feared, but it should be revered.  Writing can help you value the wisdom of age.

Wise Women Write.  That’s their beauty secret.

They reach for pens instead of  anti-aging potions.

With a few strokes of a pen or your computer keys, writing reflects your  thoughts and feelings in a way the mirror fails.

If you rely on a mirror to tell your truth as you age,  the mirror shows only your outside packaging.   But writing reveals your beautiful inside–the wonderful wise woman you’ve become!

The writing process facilitated in Wise Women Write will help you process your experiences and tell your important stories.  It helps you to share your truth as only you can tell it.  Our stories help us to appreciate where we’ve been and who we’ve become.

Writing is not only therapeutic but it boosts self-esteem.

Yes, wise women do write.   book-photo1

The poet Maria Rainer Rilke said, “Live your questions now.”  Writing helps you not only to live those questions but to have the courage to ask them in the first place.  Writing empowers you to dig deep and awaken sleeping dreams inside you.  Writing also helps you accept the woman you are today.

Rilke also said, “The only journey is the one within.”  Writing begins the journey.

So whether you’re in your 40’s, 50’s, or 60’s, welcome to a fabulous time to be writing!
