About the Book
I hope it won’t be long now. Wise Women Write just became a little closer to reality when I handed the first draft off for an initial read through by my editor. She will help me finalize the submissions, which ones are appropriate for which assignment. This book will contain several of the assignments that I have generated and the work that my writers have crafted in response to the many assignments I have given.
Just like a proud momma, I loved every submission sent to me by each and every one of my Wise Women writers. I have placed each submission where I think appropriate, but a second opinion will be nice.
Eventually the submissions will be narrowed down to the ones that best fit individual assignments, and I will notify those writers that their writing will appear in the book. I will ask for a short bio. I will pay them their fee and ask them to sign an agreement.
I received almost 70 pieces from which to choose as illustrations of “Words of the Wise” for the each of the assignments the book will contain. This has been a long road for me. Left to my own devices, I’ve not been faithful to any steady path. I know there’s still some winding road ahead that I don’t see. But with the encouragement of several of my Wise Women, I’m ready to forge ahead.
I am in the process of preparing a book proposal and seeking an agent/publisher. For a long time, I never considered anything but self-publishing, but I now know that I need to broaden my vision. I really want to see Wise Women Write groups spring up all over the country. So I need to think bigger than I have been.
Stay tuned. As my wise advisor Wayne Dyer says, “You’ll see it when you believe it.” My eyes are now wide open because finally I believe I can do this!
